Lactation Support

IBCLC

Lactation Consultations include a full history about pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding.  If necessary an examination of mum’s breasts, lymph nodes and nipples as well as an examination of the baby’s mouth, tongue and sucking motions. An observation of a feed in order to be able to see baby’s latch and feeding technique. Guidance and demonstration of a variety of nursing positions and showing mum how to latch the baby on when trying them out. Information about how to define a good latch. If necessary you will get a treatment plan for issues such as thrush, mastitis, blocked ducts, slow weight gain, cracked nipples, low milk supply etc as well as private prescriptions for breastfeeding related problems such as antifungals, antibiotics and galactagogues such as Domperidone.  I can also make referrals to other specialists, such as Paediatricians, Gastroenterologists etc.

I also work with same-sex couples and non-binary people to help them achieve their breast/ chest feeding goals with things like induced lactation.

I have successfully helped many patients to induce lactation for surrogate and adoptive babies, as well as help to re-lactate when lactation was stopped.

I have a wide network of breastfeeding specialists, osteopaths, chiropractors, midwives, doulas, maternity nurses, Health visitors and other specialists in a wide geographic area who I refer to regularly.

Induced Lactation

Support

Breastfeeding is a gift a baby receives from their gestational parent. However, many non-gestational parents—adoptive parents, intended parents (through surrogacy), parents whose partner is birthing, transwomen and many more—are finding out that this wonderful experience is also available to them. Because parents who haven’t given birth do not have the hormones of pregnancy to get their bodies started with making milk, they need more information and support to make breastfeeding a reality.

I am skilled to work with all types of clients wishing to feed their baby human milk, including same-sex couples and non-binary people, to help them achieve their breast/ chest feeding goals with things like induced lactation. Inducing lactation can occur for many reasons, and is sometimes known as breastfeeding without birthing.

I have successfully helped many patients to induce lactation for surrogate and adoptive babies, as well as help to re-lactate when lactation was stopped.

Low-Level Laser Therapy

Innovative Nipple Healing

Are you experiencing discomfort, soreness, or damage to your nipples due to breastfeeding or other causes? We understand the challenges that nipple damage can bring, and we’re excited to introduce a cutting-edge solution that may provide you with relief: Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT).

How Does LLLT Work for Nipple Healing?

Low-Level Laser Therapy utilises the power of gentle laser light to stimulate cellular activity and improve blood circulation. When applied to damaged nipple tissues, this non-invasive and painless treatment may expedite the healing process, reduce inflammation, and provide soothing relief.

Therapeutic Ultrasound

for Mastitis, blocked ducts and engorgement

Are you experiencing the discomfort and pain of mastitis, a common issue for breastfeeding mothers? We understand the challenges that mastitis can bring, and we’re excited to introduce a cutting-edge solution that may provide you with relief: Therapeutic Ultrasound.

How Does Therapeutic Ultrasound Work for Mastitis?

Therapeutic ultrasound employs high-frequency sound waves to gently penetrate the affected breast tissue. These waves can improve blood circulation, reduce inflammation, and potentially enhance the absorption of antibiotics, aiding the healing process and bringing you relief from mastitis symptoms.
